Agile Optical Frequency Synthesis in Extra-Cavity Parametric Mixers

Abstract

Concepts and recent advances in parametric optical frequency synthesis are presented. New parametric mixer designs enable orders-of-magnitude improvement in tuning agility, spectral purity and wavelength coverage of existing tunable sources.
