Lorentzian-Like Gain in the Analysis of Gain Assisted Slow Surface Plasmon-Polaritons

Abstract

We investigate slow surface plasmon-polariton in a metal/dielectric interface when a Lorentzian function is used to model the gain response in the dielectric medium. An increase in the well know group index of 1.86 to 10 is achieved.
