Femtosecond Laser-driven Wave Propagation on Metals

Abstract

With femtosecond pulse irradiation, we observe, for the first time, the propagation of nanostructure-covered large scale waves within a laser beam spot, and show the selective ablation of the wave surface plays a decisive role.
