Quantum effects in subnanometric-gap plasmonic antennas

Abstract

We obtain the optical response of plasmonic nanoantennas showing subnanometric gaps with use of a quantum-corrected model. A redistribution of plasmonic modes and a quenching of the field-enhancement are produced due to quantum tunneling.
