Elliptical Vortex Coronagraph

Abstract

An optical vortex coronagraph that uses an elliptical sub-aperture and a variant of a vortex lens is presented. Conventional circular sub-apertures can be replaced with elliptical sub-apertures to significantly increase the light gathering power.
