Abstract

We applied a technique for approximate broadband phase retrieval to a segmented aperture model of the James Webb Space Telescope’s Fine Guidance Sensor in the ultra-broadband regime (1–5 μm, 133% fractional bandwidth). It yielded an over-200× improvement in runtime, but at the cost of limiting accuracy to approximately 0.031 wave RMS.
