Ultra-Wide Tunable Coupling in Fused Taper Fiber Coupler by Locally Applying Torsional Stress over the Waist

Abstract

Ultra wide tunable light coupling in a fussed taper fiber coupler was experimentally achieved from 1000nm to 1700nm by locally applying torsional stress over the taper waist. Consistent spectral shifts in the transmission were analyzed for band rejection filter applications.
