Self Phase Modulation of Chirped Ultrashort Pulses in Gas Filled Hollow Core Photonic Bandgap Fibers

Abstract

Self-phase-modulation (SPM) of femtosecond pulses in gas-filled photonic bandgap fibers was studied. SPM was observed at significantly lower powers compared to free-space focused-beams, and its dependence on initial chirp and gas pressure was measured.
