Real-time Phase-free and Background-free Detection of Nanoparticles and Viruses

Abstract

We implement phase-sensitive optical detection and characterization of nano-particles. The elimination of the phase contribution to the detected signal helps improve the measured particle size accuracy and resolution, compared to standard interferometric techniques.
