Reversible Photothermal Tuning of Single Salt-Water Microdroplets on a Superhydrophobic Surface

Abstract

We demonstrate large (up to 15 nm) and reversible spectral tuning of the whispering gallery modes of single NaCl-water microdroplets standing on a superhydrophobic surface by local heating with an infrared laser.
