Modeling and Testing of Electro-refractive Coupled Quantum Well Modulators

Abstract

We present a comprehensive theoretical model for coupled quantum well modulators and use the results to guide device fabrication. Test measurements for InP Mach-Zehnder intensity modulators show agreement with the simulation.
