Abstract

A negative index metamaterial demonstrating n=-1.0+0.8i with both negative effective permittivity and permeability at 813nm of linearly polarized light is fabricated. It also exhibits a negative refractive index (n= -0.7+1.3i) at 772nm for orthogonal polarization.
