Covalent Attachment for Surface Enhancement of Lanthanide Emission

Abstract

We have used functionalized disulfide organic precursors for covalent linkage of labeled fluorophore to silver nanoparticles in solution. This approach is meant to optimize surface-fluorophore separation for plasmon enhancement applications in biological assay.
