Nonlinear Pulse Propagation in One-Dimensional Metallo-Dielectric Multilayer Stacks: Ultra-Wide Bandwidth Optical Limiting

Abstract

We numerically study the nonlinear optical properties of metallo-dielectric photonic band-gap structures in the pulsed regime. We exploit the high χ<sup>(3)</sup> of copper to induce broad-band optical limiting of high-intensity pulses across the visible range. Article not available.
