Improvement of Photon Propagation in Long Scintillating Optical Fibers for Astroparticle Physics

Abstract

Scintillating optical fibers produce photons upon traversal by charged particles. A model for understanding improvements we have observed in photon propagation in long scintillating fiber detector elements for astroparticle physics and experimental results are presented.
