Secure Communication by low-photon-number pathlength modulation

Abstract

Pathlength modulation interferometers operating at the single-photon level allow the transmission of conventionally encrypted messages with greatly increased security. By modulating pathlength differences, Alice and Bob can prevent Eve from having access to the ciphertext.
