Surface Gap Solitons in LiNbO3 Waveguide Arrays

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate the existence of surface gap solitons in a semi-infinite array of LiNbO3 waveguides with defocusing nonlinearity. Power threshold dynamics and the staggered phase structure of the self-localized beam are studied in detail.
