Abstract

Conventional ways are difficult to provide synchronized 100-psec compressible and ns shaped optical pulses, which is concerned by laser driven ICF. We demonstrate a new way to generate arbitrary optical pulse shapes by stacking 100-psec chirped pulses. The arbitrarily shaped optical pulse measured has a pulse width of 2.2ns and a rise time less than 50-psec and it is precisely synchronized with the compressible pulse, whose time jitter was 4-psec. It is believed that this system has the potential use in Fast Ignition.
