Abstract

A scanning near-field optical microscope (SNOM) is used to observe high-resolution optical intensity distributions of three-dimensional woodpile photonic crystals fabricated with two-photon-polymerization technique. Near-field signals reveal different mode distributions inside and outside the partial bandgap.
