Theoretical and Practical Limits of Large Alphabet Energy-Time Quantum Key Distribution

Abstract

We show that with current technology, large alphabet energy-time quantum key distribution (QKD) will easily allow for the transmission of quantum key qubytes, photonic quantum states which transmit 8 random key bits per sifted photon.
