Ultrafast anisotropic ballistic electron transport in Au films

Abstract

Femtosecond reflectivity measurements on Au films revealed damped oscillations. This behavior is explained with ballistic electron transport in selected directions that are defined by the nonspherical Fermi surface of Au.
