Two-Photon Imaging of Cortical Microvascular Blood Flow in Response to Single Vessel Occlusion

Abstract

We induce clotting in targeted cerebral microvessels in rat using optical techniques, and measure blood flow in downstream vessels. We find that clots in arterioles supplying sub-surface capillaries lead to substantial reductions in blood flow.
