Abstract

Optimized system designs for 160 Gbit/s long-haul transmission will be presented. The influence of fiber type (SSMF, NZDSF), modulation format (RZ, CSRZ, IM-DPSK), and signal power level was investigated and reach limits of up to 880 km could be shown by means of numerical simulation.
