Propagation of Intense Femtosecond Laser Pulses through Clustered Gases

Abstract

The time evolution of the polarizability of intense femtosecond laser-heated clusters leads to pulse self-guiding. The physics of this effect and its applications will be described, one of which is extremely efficient generation of plasma waveguides.
