Birefringence Measurement Techniques Applied to Stress Evaluation in Optical Devices

Abstract

Residual stress affects the reliability and the performance of optical devices. The Two-Waveplate Compensator (TWC) and the Brace-Köhler techniques are implemented for full-field retardation measurements. Stress profiles are computed in various optical fibers.
