Two-photon absorption properties of noncritically phase-matched KNbO3 crystal and efficient high pulse energy second-harmonic generation at 430 nm

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The two-photon absorption coefficient of the highly nonlinear crystal KNbO3 at 430 nm is reported. Furthermore, we demonstrate efficient (50-60%) high pulse energy second-harmonic generation at 430 nm with subpicosecond pump pulses. Blue pulses with ~2.7 microjoule energies were obtained using a 1 mm-thick KNbO3 crystal. Full-text article is not available.
