Macroscopie quantum fluctuations of pulsed nanosecond optical parametric generation in periodically-poled LiNbO3

Abstract

We present simulations and experimental results for quantum noise initiated emission from a periodically- poled lithium niobate optical parametric generator (OPG). Our model successfully describes broad-band emission spectra in OPGs and optical parametric amplifiers. The emission spectra and the quantum statistics deduced from macroscopic fluctuations between simulations and experiment are compared.
