High-energy femtosecond fiber laser via self-similar pulse-shaping

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Theoretical and experimental advances in high-energy femtosecond fiber lasers will be reviewed. A new kind of pulse-formation based on self-similar propagation allows substantial increases in pulse energy compared to prior fiber lasers. The pulse energy and peak power from these lasers are becoming comparable to those of solid-state lasers. Full-text article is not available.
