Abstract

We discuss the transport of optical waves in the fascinating intermediate regime between fully disordered and ordered systems. In particular we study the transport of short optical pulses in Fibonacci quasi-crystals and optical superlattices with broken symmetry and report the observation of Bloch oscillations of light waves.
