Abstract
Time-resolved fluorescence measurements of single-wall carbon nanotubes reveal carrier trapping rates as fast as 0.1ps-1. This rate, combined with the experimental absolute fluorescence quantum efficiency, yields radiative lifetimes of ~100ns. For excitation with multiple electron-hole pairs, Auger recombination dominates the nanotube decay dynamics.
