Abstract
It is well known that in the visible and infrared (IR) regimes some noble metals, e.g., silver and gold, exhibit negative real part for their permittivities, and thus behave as plasmonic materials. This leads to plasmonic resonance in the optical wave interaction with such metallic nanoparticles. This is due to the fact that the plasma frequencies of these metals are in the visible or ultraviolet wavelengths. There has been an increasing interest in this important topic in recent years due to the significant activities in the area of nanotechnology and nano-photonics [1-6]. These particles can be much smaller than the optical wavelength; however their dimensions can be comparable with the skin depth of these metals in the optical frequencies
