Abstract

Coherent transients are directly observed in the time-domain as a sequence of decreasing commensurate pulses in methanol (CH3OH) gas at spacing of 21 ps at room temperature. The dephasing time T2 ~ 23 ps was measured for CH3OH from the decaying amplitude in time.
