Abstract

We establish the equivalent pupil function (EPF) theory for general modified Fresnel zone plates (MFZP). The total diffracted field distribution at the focal plane is the Fourier-Bessel transform of the EPF. This theory can be used for the focusing analysis of pre-given MFZPs and for construction of desired focal spots.
