Abstract

We have investigated the use of broadband diffuse optical spectroscopy as a technique to monitor tissue temperatures non-invasively. Changes in water absorption bands in the near-infrared region provide an endogenous contrast that varies with temperature. We present results acquired on emulsion tissue phantoms to test our instruments predictive capabilities.
