Abstract

Gold nanoshells are a new class of optically-active nanoparticles which have found promising applications in biomedical imaging techniques. We report the study of angular dependent light scattering from gold nanoshells using a self designed automated goniometer. The experimental results compare favorably with the Mie theory calculation for concentric sphere geometries.
