Abstract

We have quantified the influence of light scattering on confocal fluorescence anisotropy images at depth in turbid media. The artificial reduction in anisotropy at depth is explored by changing scattering particle sizes, depth of image acquisition, and microscope imaging parameters. Results from model systems are compared with Monte Carlo simulations.
