Dynamical localization in spiral microresonators

Abstract

We consider double spiral design of dielectric microresonators. Unlike the conventional systems, based on stable ray trajectories, this device takes advantage of chaotic ray dynamics and dynamical localization, to control mode lifetime and emission directionality. We develop theoretical description of the proposed system performance and consider its applications.
