Abstract

The discovery of rescattering in high field physics has helped advance our understanding of single and multielectron dynamics in strong fields, is now being applied to measure the dynamics of molecular systems with a resolution better than 10−15s [1], and may in the future provide attosecond imaging of nuclear processes [2]. We present in this paper experiments on rescattering at intensities beyond the dipole approximation for the ionization of neon up to intensities of 1018W/cm2, i.e. Ne+8, and the results of a model that include new aspects of rescattering that must be considered at ultrahigh intensities.
