Measurements of polarization- and wavelength-dependent performance of waveguide volume grating couplers

Abstract

CCD imaging of the output of waveguide volume grating couplers (WVGCs) is used to measure the response of wavelength-dependent and wavelength-independent couplers to TE and TM polarized input light. It is also used to measure the wavelength selectivity of output WVGCs. Experimental results are presented and compared with calculated values.
