Abstract

It has been known that higher order wave aberrations in the eye degrade visual performance, especially when the pupil becomes larger under low light conditions. The feasibility of improving human vision has been successfully demonstrated by correcting these aberrations with customized optics such as phase plates and soft contact lenses.
