Abstract

Dynamic instability in the transmission field of an optical ring cavity containing three-level A-type rubidium atoms is studied in detail both experimentally and theoretically. A generalized theoretical model is developed to describe the full dynamics of such system and good agreement was obtained between the theoretical calculations and experimental observations.
