Phase reconstruction of two-dimensional polychromatic fields

Abstract

We show that, under the conditions of full spatial coherence, the phase of a two-dimensional polychromatic field can be experimentally retrieved simultaneously in each point in space with high accuracy and low- noise. Imaging experiments performed on standard phase samples indicate that the sensitivity of the measurement is is approximately λ/400.
