Abstract

In an effort to select the best photo-detector for a new generation of adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscopes (AOSLO), we compared the signal to noise ratios of 7 types of photo-detectors over the possible signal power range. The selected detector was subsequently evaluated on the Houston AOSLO.
