Abstract

Optical interconnects are under investigation for intrachip global communications. Low-power, high yield optical sources are required to exploit potential solutions. Two new structures are presented that enable MQWM’s to be integrated with candidate fabrics, utilizing a single CW laser, waveguides, splitters, and 45-degree etched facets, providing multiple individually addressable sources.
