Ultrafast modelocked diode lasers for coherent communications and signal processing

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Optical frequency combs generated from semiconductor modelocked lasers are used to realize a broad range of optical communication and signal processing functions. This presentation will discuss recent results on the stabilization of optical frequency combs and their use in dense WDM coherent communication architectures and in photonic arbitrary waveform generation.
