Abstract

Our measurements of two types of hollow-core photonic band-gap fibers demonstrate that contribution of the glass to the effective fiber nonlinearity is highly sensitive to the air-filling fraction of the structure. This indicates that it is possible to engineer the nonlinear response of these fibers through small structural changes.
