Soliton spectral coherence during fission

Abstract

The spectral coherence of solitons generated in a PCF is experimentally characterized. A strong dependence of coherence on the soliton’s center wavelength is observed, and we suggest that cross phase modulation during the soliton fission process may be responsible for the coherence variation.
