Abstract

We present a theoretical study of photonic crystal Mach-Zehnder interferometers (PC MZIs) highlighting a unique resonant property that does not occur in conventional MZIs. The behavior results from the reflection and transmission properties of PC junctions, and results in unique operational characteristics for PC MZIs.
