Novel all-optical devices

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Novel all-optical device concepts and devices will be reviewed and their performance will be compared with competing technologies. We will then discuss limitations as well as opportunities of all-optical devices in future telecommunications networks. Subsequently, we will focus on devices exploiting semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) nonlinearities and show latest results.Full-text article is not available.
