Walk-off effects in dual-pump parametric amplifiers

Abstract

The noise figure of fiber-based parametric amplifiers is affected by intensity fluctuations associated with the pumps. We show that the effects of walk off between the signal and pumps help to improve the noise figure of dual-pump parametric amplifiers in the central flat region of the gain spectrum.
